Microsoft Office is a popular and powerful suite of programs used by home users and businesses across the world. One of Microsoft’s most popular series of products, Office bundles together a range of productivity applications to provide a package to meet the needs of businesses. Many Office applications share features and interface ideas, making it easy for users to move between programs and follow a workflow involving multiple applications.
There are currently two main versions of Office available: an on-premises version named after the year it is released (for example Office 2019) and a cloud variant, which does not need to be installed on premises, called Office 365. Included applications vary depending on the version you choose, but every bundle includes at least Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Many bundles also include Outlook and Access.
Training to use one or a number of Microsoft Office applications can help you work more efficiently and get the best out of the features each program offers. Skills with Office are highly valued by many employers and are often a prerequisite for many office jobs.
